5 Things We Can’t Wait for in 2018

I hope you all had a great holiday season and welcome to 2018! Here’s 5 things we’re looking forward to seeing this year for NYCFC.  Let us know what’s on your list in the comments.

The Youth

With players like Jonathan Lewis (20), James Sands (17), Jesus Medina (20), and Jack Harrison (21), it’s no secret that NYCFC is working to lower it’s average player age.  Needless to say, we’re excited.  We’ve seen what can happen when Harrison & Lewis are involved in a match.  Late game winners, absolutely stunning curlers, and just overall liveliness in the squad when they’re on the pitch.

We’re psyched to see what guys like Sands and Medina will bring to the team as the young guns begin to takeover at each position.

The New NYCFC Kit

It appears as though the team has been dropping some hints about the new kit (this pic might be one of them).  Either way, we cannot wait to see the new NYCFC kit.  Our speculation is that it’s some sort of dark grey or black with the sky blue lettering.  Dramatic, I know.

But no matter what the new NYCFC jersey looks like, I’m sure we’ll all be online ordering them on day one.  I just hope we see these new kits on our boys in blue more often than we saw the hypno-kit take the pitch.

Stadium Announcement 🤣

I’m sure we can all agree on this one.  While Yankee Stadium is our current home (at least for most of the season…BOOM roasted), we’re all foaming at the mouth for a soccer-specific, NYCFC specific, stadium announcement from the team.  Amidst the Belmont and Queens possibilities, no concrete evidence has surfaced that shows a plan.

While this is certainly just a ‘Hope’ of ours, we’re excited that 2018 might finally be the year that brings the stadium announcement to the fans in blue.

New NYCFC Training Facility

When the new NYCFC training facility was announced to be built in Orangeburg, NY (Rockland County), we got psyched.  And when the team announced on Jan 1 that the doors would be open in the spring, we got even more psyched.

We’re really looking forward to bringing you player interviews, photos, and video right from the new NYCFC training ground in 2018.

Another Year of David Villa Gold

Well, duh.  I think this is another one we can all agree on.  David Villa is pure magic on the field as he leads this team.  The goals, the assists, the no look passes (the ones that are completed we mean), we just can’t wait to see El Guaje do his thing in 2018.

It’s sad to even think that this may be the last year of his career, but if it is, we’re sure he’ll go out with a bang, and hopefully a cup.
